It's a enjoyable film and there are parts of it that work well. It's a typically slick effort from Marvel. But don't expect to fall in love with the character like the other Marvel films. For whatever reason they've decided to maker her over powered. She brings thermo nuclear weapons to a knife fight. She's got no flaws and little personality and is arrogant rather than confident. Her powers render the other avengers efforts pointless. As a standalone film it's enjoyable and was released at a time when anything Marvel put out would be a massive hit on the back of their previous efforts and in anticipation of the series finally in Endgame. I'm not so sure she is charasmatic enough to carry the franchise forward as the flagship of the new phase, the character is not strong enough but her powers too strong. They've kind of shown her hand, what obstacles can they put in her path that we don't know she can overcome already? She can destroy a starship by flying at it. There's no interesting challenges or development left.
