A beautifully shot film with British actor, James D'Arcy playing a dying father in a future Los Angeles where the sun is too hot for daytime strolls. The film is a timely and coincidental reminder of our current pandemic as the world of LX 2048 pretty much forces everyone to ‘work from home.’ In this Los Angeles of the near future, the streets are empty, the offices are empty and people sleep during the day. It may not be the most original film but it is still refreshing and thoughtful as it addresses the horror of cloning and gene-editing, mankind's future without boring the viewer. Writer-director Guy Moshe's dark humor is a good fit with the existential questions his film tries to ask. It's an interesting visual ride with surprises.
