You can’t really compare this to Project Runway.. this is taking designers with an established brand already and pushing them to be global.. not young designers and having back to back challenges. I feel this is representative of reality. I think they did a really good job. Having Naomi Campbell as a judge was great. She was straightforward, honest and some say harsh but every time she gave feedback the contestants listened and took it back into their designs. She definitely brought something to the judging panel and these judges needed to be hard on them to push them... Some amazing talent in there. I think at the beginning they weren’t pushing hard enough but after the pep talk they all got it. Timeframes will do that. Maybe they need to mix up the timeframes of the challenges a bit more. I have to say I wouldn’t of minded an unconventional challenge like they do on PR. Or something just a bit out of left field to mix it up..
Loved the little Tim and Heidi escapades... not too much but kind of funny!
Would of loved to see them work more with the seamstress’s to bring the clothes to life.. even if they crossed over by a couple of hours or something..
In the end I can see why they picked Jonny.. but I think Esters clothes were original innovative and a strong point of view.. I don’t think her clothes belong on Amazon.. they are much more refined and she belongs on a Paris runway, her own online presence and channels through net-a-porter and the likes.
I also loved Sanders clothes! I definitely would of loved to have seen him on the runway - not even to win - but his clothes were refreshing, I loved his concept for the pop up. I was shocked that he didn’t go forward.. perhaps it was because he didn’t have any added merchandising? And I feel like because he was young maybe they thought he will have more time? I’m not sure.. but I loved his ideas.. true inspiration.
