They destroyed a classic. The original film was something that people of all ages could find a positive and inspiring message in. The parts that were left original (or at least stayed close to the original plot) were actually very well executed. However, the feminist political agenda that was jammed into every random nook and cranny was unnecessary, awkward, and ruined the experience. What they did to Jasmine's character felt forced, completely politically motivated, and didnt fit the story line or time period in even a half coherent manner. Literally every major alteration from the original film was made to insert unnecessary hyper feminist ideology. If remaking one of the most memorable films of all time in live action with incredible visuals, singing, and actors still only scores a 5 out of 10 on all major review sites, then it should be a no brainer on what failed miserably. Disney, here is a hot tip, how about leaving politics to politicians, and just make movies that people everywhere can all love and enjoy? Walt Disney understood that concept. You have strayed far from what you once were, and it's truly a tragedy.
