Best game client ever for a MMO, worst company ever. You log into the game and will be presented with a lot of good things, most notably the landscape, the world. It's open, it's beautiful, etc, etc. But the more you play it, you will feel like you are standing in a ocean ankle deep. What I mean by that is you can't swim deeper to "find" secrets and mysteries. There are no real secrets or mysteries except maybe 1 or 2 that go on for far longer than they should. And you don't really gain anything, it's always a pet or a mount. All the high level gear is locked behind miserable "team" content where all it takes is 1 person messing up to ruin everyone's night and force everyone to start taking advil. Honestly, the only MMO mechanically that gave me good memories my entire life was Ultima Online pre publish 16 era. Which isn't really around anymore cause the game just got too old. Fun world PVP. No instances. The mechanics from the designer was a set it and forget it. Not nerfing this and buffing that playstyle every couple weeks like Blizzard does. All the jokes going around that Blizzard is a "small indie company" are about as true and to the point as you can get. Only it's somehow worse than that. At least indie companies set it and forget it. Like Albion Online. Blizzard is always forcing change on their players. Change is good as long as it's something people can choose to go forward with. But when you've invested years into a character and blizzard makes it unplayable for "you". It's a kick in the teeth. Blizzard hates healers. So if you play support in online games. Stay away from this game. Blizzard hates goths but loves furries. So if you are a goth and want something beautiful and dark. Stay away from this game cause players have been asking for a vampire playable race for 2+ years and the company has instead given players small fox people. There is a huge megathread for San'layn on their forums that has literally been going completely ignored. And their newest lore addition Venthyr would also have been a great option for a vampire playable race. I'm so glad that at the end of this expansion when I know Shadowlands their gothic fantasy expansion does not include giving me my legacy of kain experience. I can finally put this game to rest knowing they will never add what I want.
