This movie is just such a mess. On my first viewing I gave it a 9/10 but rewatching it just made me so bored. There are just so many characters in this movie that just felt like the directors threw them in so people could feel nostalgic. I mean that little opening scene with Doc Ock they make it so dramatic as if everyone was gonna get up from their seats and start clapping. I went to 2 different theaters and no one clapped or cheered for Doc Ock. The only time people clapped was when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appeared. But going back to Doc Ock, he just felt so bland in this movie. He had that first fight against Peter but then just chilled out in prison and became a lab rat. And while we’re on the topic of pointless characters, Sand-Man and Lizard felt so pointless. First of all Sand-Man likes Peter at first but then hates him in under like a minute. Also plus if Sand-Man wanted to go back home, then why does he participate in the final battle? And for Lizard it felt like the directors HATED him. We don’t even get an opening scene with him. He just shows up in prison and doesn’t even have a cool fight scene until the hotel fight and the final battle. But he does like one attack in each fight. Also plus he doesn’t even show up in the hotel while Peter tries to cure the other villains. He just stays in the truck and acts as if he knew something was gonna go wrong. Also I do agree with how Electro was a better character in this movie than Amazing Spider-Man 2 but Jamie Foxx is not a good actor at all. I didn’t like the comedic moments they gave him. I don’t even remember what I liked about this movie. It just feels like a giant commercial for other movies that aren’t even that good. We have Jamie Foxx mentioning Miles, we have Tobey and Andrew stating memes from their movies, and we have Tom Holland and William Dafoe who are actually good. It just feels like Marvel has just stopped trying and just feels like they’re telling themselves “It’s bad but they’ll still watch it”. But anyway 4/10 do not recommend
