Was Alien Romulus the best film in the franchise? Definitely not. But did it deliver some of the most terrifying moments we've seen in the series? Absolutely! I’d place this film on par with Alien 3 (which I enjoyed), though it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Aliens. What Fede Alvarez achieved here was crafting a compelling story that fits seamlessly into the Alien universe, making it a worthy addition to the franchise even if it has its flaws.

I had high hopes for Supercharged, drawn in by the captivating cover art. While Make It Alright was decent—though it felt more reminiscent of the Beach Boys than The Offspring—I was hoping to find more standout tracks on the album. Unfortunately, I struggled to connect with it. Although Let the Bad Times Roll had a few highlights, it seems the essence that made the band so remarkable in the '90s has faded. I have immense respect for them, but they feel more like a tribute band to their former selves these days. Smash and Ignition will always be among my favorites, but this new material feels like the work of a different band that has matured without necessarily improving over time.

The Crow has always held a special place in my heart. The tragic story of Brandon Lee adds a profound layer that connects this incredible film to our own lives. However, what keeps drawing me back to this tale is its powerful depiction of the struggle between good and evil, along with all the complexities in between. While it may not be a perfect adaptation of the comics or a flawless film, I genuinely believe it’s a remarkable work that stands the test of time.

The new adaptation of *The Crow* offers a fresh and enjoyable take on a classic tale. While it diverges from the original film, its violence and darker undertones align more closely with the comic’s spirit. Despite receiving considerable criticism, it's important to recognize it as a reinterpretation—much like how Disney approaches its intellectual properties. I have a deep appreciation for the original film, even though it differs from the comics, and I believe this new version stands strong on its own. My main critique, which is quite minor, is that I wish the film had explored the older man in the rail yard more thoroughly—his role as an intermediary and his possible connection to the Devil remain unclear. Beyond that, my other concerns are trivial. I don’t think the movie deserves the negativity it has faced simply because it’s a remake; rather, it’s a reimagining that adds depth to the story and addresses some flaws of the original. The cast, crew, music, lighting, visual effects, and direction were all outstanding! While I'm not usually a fan of the director, I believe he crafted a truly remarkable experience with this film. Although the ending leaves things open, a sequel seems unlikely given the box office returns. For a worthy remake, it's best to let this one stand-alone and avoid the pitfalls of the original’s many sequels that failed to capture its magic. If you’re a fan of the comics or the original film, I highly recommend checking this out. Just don’t expect a scene-for-scene remake or a verbatim adaptation of the comics. This film successfully captures the essence of the story while introducing fresh ideas. Kudos to Mr. Skarsgård—he continues to impress with every role. FK Twiggs was exceptional too, making the most of her limited screen time. A huge shoutout to the VFX department; this is how gory films should be made, and you all did a spectacular job!
