I didn’t think I would like this movie. I went to watch it with my friend for her birthday. I’ve hated so many of the new remakes that have ruined my childhood. That being said, I haven’t felt such pure joy, nostalgia, and magic watching a movie since I was a child!! I truly forget I was sitting in a theater! The songs are amazing and have been on repeat for weeks now. The story was fresh and exciting but had enough nods and ties to the original that it still made sense. They really did respect the source material and honored it. I will be rushing to buy this movie when it’s on DVD!!

Where are these kids parents??? The lead role, Stevie, was played by an ACTUAL 12 year old!! They had him doing drugs, drinking, swearing every 2 seconds, there was even a SEX SCENE!!! He is flipping TWELEVE!!! Not to mention all the other kids doing the same! WHERE ARE HIS PARENTS??? How could ANYONE let their child be in such a gross, disturbing, AWFUL film? How is this NOT child abuse? How is this not setting them all up for failure? Teaching kids that drugs, alcohol, drunk driving, and sex are cool and fun things to do is DISGUSTING!!!! I have never in my life felt so dirty, depressed, heartbroken, and disgusted as I did after watching this movie, not even after 50 Shades. This is a whole new low in Hollywood and I can not speak against this movie enough.
