Where do I begin with this new adaptation of Sailor Moon. OK let's start at the colors. Bright and pretty just like the original but that's all there is in comparison to the original. I was so hyped when I learned that there were doing a new adaptation of Sailor Moon, which by the way was one of my favorite childhood anime. Instead it felt lackluster. For one, they didn't have the theme song. Like what the hell. The whole premise of that show is the theme song. "Fighting heros by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, she is the one Sailor Moon." The voices were annoying as hell. I get it, they were a bunch of obnoxious teenagers but Jesus christ they could have tone it down just a tadbit. The lines were kinda cheesy and seriously, did we really need two separate episodes? They could have made it into one thing and maybe it would have been more enjoyable. But you know what I did fall asleep something I never thought would have happened since this was one of my highest rated anticipated shows to watch for the year. But you know what you can't blame me being in my thirties and falling asleep. This is solely Sailor Moon fault being boring as hell. So boring in fact that I am here typing this really poor review of one of the best memories I had. Shame on them exploiting my favorite childhood anime and then they sexualized everything. That's the beauty of the anime in the 1990s it wasn't this explicit. It was tastefully done. Sure there were moments back in the days where one would scratch their head but the way the 2021 show was so out there, it took away the innocence the show and characters once had. And there you have it in a nutshell, I would recommend skipping.
