For being a remake it does follow the movie far too closely, the changes being minor setting changes and interactions withthose she comes across, if you are going to remake something, remake it, don't just retell a longer version of what we've already seen, everyone may as well save 8 hours and just watch the movie, which is much better paced as the show is simply the movie dragged out with a ton of unnecessary filler, Amazon's got quite a few good series' however both remakes they've done that i've given a chance to, Hanna and Death Note, are definitely not among those, and my recommendation for both is to get the movies and save your time.
