There is nothing more horrifying than realizing how fragile our existence is. How we forget to treasure it until our minds begin to descend into their own ruin entrapped within our confused mortal coils. The house used in this film as an extension of our shells and how energies from generations of one family are lost within shapeshifting walls of despair is brilliant. This is too real for many who would look for fun jump scares. And while I love horror films like that as well, they are an escape and safe, while this film is a terrifying mirror of awaits us all in one way or another. The claustrophobic feeling of our own demise and our mortality as life slips away slowly passing through our genetics is why this film is terrifyingly successful.

It has become a sad trend in filmmaking, as of late, to have gorgeous visuals and cinematography, with the complete absence of any plot. The craft of writing is becoming a completely lost art in cinema, and if you want to waste 91 minutes of your life, this film will prove it to you.

Intelligent horror/thriller film with beautifully crafted twists in storytelling. The film has fantastic depth of different perspectives, while the pacing moves at a good speed. A film with very layered concepts and constructs of guilt and skeletons in the closet coming back to haunt you. Literally.
