Superficial entertainment fluff piece
One look at Masaba Masaba, and quickly I'm wishing it were more like Keeping up with the Kardashians, where the camera just follows the real life and day-to-day happenings of the family. But this is a scripted show where famous people are playing different characters! 😳😑 I didn't sign up for this.
Masaba Gupta is very real, genuine; so is her mother. They are very likeable, unlike the ladies they've got on board to do cameos (Farah Khan, seriously!?!). They are such a unique mother-daughter duo, with interracial, generational differences and what not. There was so much potential to unearth some genuine mom-daughter issues, single-parenting issues. Yet they go ahead and make this contrived masala fluff piece. 🙄
I had hoped to see their actual life, their real life on reel, than this "cool" , scripted show with some well known ott actors (And why's that girl from BuzzFeed here? She's pretty well-known by her real name. Her whole storyline didn't come across genuine at all). I just don't see the point of this show, just as how it is now. Perhaps, season 2, if there is one, will be more personal.
Ps: Thanks to 1.25x speed on Netflix, I could watch the whole series. I had to, sorry.
