Absolutely hated this series. The depictions are terrible and stereotypical. The focal point is a mixed relationship. Black man with a clear particular taste for white women. Typical. Blacks living in projects and surrounded by gang violence. Typical. White folks being saviors for people of color. Typical. Blacks not able to take care of their kids and being investigated by CPS. Typical.
Why is it that in so many shows/movies with mixed casting that these are the common themes? Like this is us and green book? This show reinforces too many black stereotypes and it’s sickening. STOP PUSHING THESE NARRATIVES. Even though it’s fictitious, people buy into these representations of blacks....especially white people.
P.s. Barry is nowhere near being a mixed child and sure that may be a stereotype from me in how mixed kids “should look” ....and yet this is the only one this show missed lolol ok now I’m just being petty * shoulder shrug*
P.s.s. Thanks for at least making Sam a “good guy” ...even though the only way he could win over old girl-the lil Disney princess no white man wanted-is by LAYIN PIPE!
