For the longest time I didnt know the answer. Soviet Union failled and I still see poor people in my own country India. I really didnt know if Socialism was good for the society or capitalism is. I read somewhere that Capitalism will overturn socialism and it happened because eventually India also opened its market. I felt their is something more fundamental to this concept of capatalism still deep in my heart i wanted a good life for everyone. For the 2nd consecutive years i paid income tax which was more than my own annual salary a decade ago. And it was an amout good enough to make me think. Not in the direction of how to save taxes fortunetly. It was in the direction If somebody asks me 4 lakhs just like that i wont give away. So there was a need of a law which could snatch this amount from me. The next question came, goverment wants to use this money for the betterment of the poor and the logical argument for me was why not give them away this amount straight away. Why this whole drama of manrega and all. Afterall, we have not much achieved through Manrega. This documentry "the pursuit" brings me 1 step closure to the truth I am seeking.
