Wow, where to begin with this one. Firt of all I love The Hellbound Heart and a good part of Hellraiser movies. Yes some sucked but they had an iconic villain and a good story for the most part. I was thrilled when I found out that Barker returned to finish his story about Pinhead but I don't think everything went according to plan. This is probably the end of Pinhead and you have this constant feeling that Barker just wanted to finish with the character, which is understandable after what the studios did with his entire Hellraiser mythos. Don't get me wrong there, this is still a remarkable book to read especially if you love everything Hellraiser. First chapter will leave you speechles, but there simply isn't the same level of quality until the end of the book. Long story short if you love Barkers work, grab this title and enjoy.

Man what a ride, finaly a novel set in the 31st millenium. And it was more than awesome. Consier it as an origin story of Horus Lupercal, although one of my favorite characters is definitely Space Marine Captain, Garviel Loken, leader of the Luna Wolves' 10th Company. This was the beginning of The Horus Heresy series and although some of the sequels get a little bit soapy the series opening is a great read.

Mad Max like apocalyptic world? Check! Spaghetti western showdowns? Check! Science fantasy setting? Check! A pinch of gothic horror? Check! I watched the animated movie years ago and was immediately taken with the world made by Hideyuki Kikuchi. So if you like a good science fantasy give Vampire Hunter D a chance.

Real classic. I read it the first time some 20 years ago and now I'm reading it again. Characters and their stories will pull you in from the start. Highly recommended.
