Sujoy Ghosh’s genre of thrillers & whodunnits have always managed to connect & resonate with me for their riveting twists & turns, tightly edited scripts & good acting . Badla somehow fails to impress on that score as too much suspense & too many twists & turns spoil the viewing.. while Taapsee Pannu gets typecast like in Pink, the actor Luke who plays Arjun Joseph makes a good debut! Scotland looks breathtakingly beautiful & the train sequences are straight out of Murder on the Orient Express. Amrita Singh impresses.. and Big B is competent as usual; all in all, a watchable film but not ipto expectations for a Sujoy Ghosh film...
