Godzilla: King of the Monster can be viewed in many ways of what you expect. If you are here to watch for a grand battle royale between giant titans, this movies delivers it wondrously with spectacular imagery of long shots of Titans fighting, beautiful sound designs and a longer duration compared to the first Godzilla 2014. I was one of those people who'd expected this and was granted this, however I cannot ignore the facts about the roles in the humans. This is where others watch it for the story or dramatic pespective view of the humans in which people that I know tend to not enjoy the film. I totally agree that the roles for the human had issues with it, but I truly think that it was just average and normal, considering it cliche. But back to my first sentence, its a matter of what you expect and this film was meant to be "spectacle imagery".
Not many people will properly not know what I'm comparing to, but this shows very similar comparison to Kyoto Animation's work on recent anime. A good example would be Violet's Evergarden, Free! and Hibike! Euphonium. They produce wondrous animations, making swimming delicious water that you want to swim, the beauty of industry city (which is a bit ironic) and the complexity of music. However there stories aren't that indulging, but more simplistic but still worth the watch on how beautiful the world is. And this is why, in my opinion, I enjoyed till the very end of the film of the realistic imagery that the Legendary produces. If I had to rate it, my enjoyment level at the cinemas was about 8/10 but to critic it including story elements and etc, I would still say 6.5/10
