Okay, this is a rather biased opinion on Endgame, and those of you who are devoted Marvel fans might disagree with me. But please note that I think Endgame is a beautiful movie, if not entertaining, it is still beautiful.
So, the positives: The last tribute to Ironman and how he brought the fight to an end, the sacrifice, all that, was really nice. Even brought a few tears to my eyes. Plus, all that stuff about quantum physics (which I did not understand at all, but it didn't matter) proved that the marvel staff did a lot of thinking on the plot. Very intricate plotting, I praise them for that.
But I have to say, there was a lot of holes, missing links, and unbalanced characters in this movie.
First, I kind of hoped that Captain Marvel would play a greater role in the movie. With all that dramatic distress signal at the end of Infinity War where Fury contacts Marvel, I would have thought that she would be the final character to defeat Thanos- or if not ( because I did like Ironman's role, too), have a larger scale full-on fight with Thanos. But I have to admit, plotting big and small fights with dozens of characters is difficult, and I don't blame the team for this one.
But on this point I've got a lot to say. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THOR? In Infinity War, I was glad to see that Thor had finally retrieved his true power, and that he was truly the god of Thunder (not hammer)! He was the most powerful character in Infinity War, and very nearly killed Thanos with Stormbreaker, even when Thanos had had all six stones. But suddenly, in this movie, he turns into a meager, pot-bellied hippie guy who can't even get a good swing at Thanos- who doesn't even have a single stone. And it's cool that Cap suddenly wields Mjolnir, cause I think it was meant to say that Cap is worthy enough, but surely Cap holding Thor's mighty weapon is pushing it too far? So basically Thor loses all his dignity, his good looks, and half of his power. What happened there? I'm confused.
Now, I know that Endgame definitely has a different atmosphere from Infinity War, but there was a LOT OF DRAMATIC, and LESS FUN. Nevertheless, it was a touching and beautiful story to watch, though a little too... splayed out everywhere. I've got to say Infinity War will remain my favorite of the series, and I do hope that Thor restores his power and charisma in the next Thor/ the next G.O.G
