I was so disappointed and completely underwhelmed by the movie. It was always going to be a tall order to follow up from the previous 3 movies in The Matrix franchise, but you do not do yourself any favours when you do not bring back the original casting for some of the most pivotal characters, namely Morpheus and Agent Smith. Both actors tried their best to fulfil the respective roles but paled in comparison. What's more is that Morpheus is not even given that much importance in the resurrection. On top of this, he comes across as a joky, nonchalant type of dude, as opposed to the wise and intense, thought provoking Morpheus that we have become accustomed to. Another issue that I had watching The Resurrection was that I was somewhat confused by the plot. At first it appears to be a mirror of what Neo's life would have reflected had he taken the Blue pill from the first movie, and that he was seeing flashes of a life as Neo, a life that he is not sure whether he actually lived or not but seemed so real. But then near the end, the guy who plays as Neo's therapist appears to have simply reprogrammed The Matrix. I also think that that new female actress with the short hair was given way too much responsibility. All in all it was a total let down and if there is a sequel to The Resurrection, then I won't be watching period.
