I am an 80 year old educated woman and I must tell you that this book, APPLE IN THE MIDDLE, is a laugh out loud page turner that I could not put down. Dawn Quigley has a most profound sense of the ridiculous and she vividly brings this " memoir" to life with such grace and clever writing. Don't let the Young Adult Audience keep you from reading this book. I have been to all the geographical places she writes about so the story is all the more meaningful for me. It is VERY humorous and it is very poignant and just an absolute treasure of a read. Kate Davies
