Had me in tears halfway through when she gave up. I don't cry often, but the emotion conveyed, the actor's incredible performances and the cinematography were all so on point during those moments - it felt so raw and so real; I was having a total ugly cry. Those of us who have looked out at the world from the bottom of a well, existing on autopilot, absent yet aware... those are the moments that are deeply relatable for many of us who endured abusive relationships. They're hard to relive but it's mini series' like these that touch on real and specific subjects that give the audience such an intense emotional response and offer insight into the world of victims, the family dynamics surrounding abuse and mental illness, battles with addiction and memory recall, the struggles of the impoverished and the reality of a flawed social security system. If I could give 6 stars, I would! Amazing.
