While maybe not as strong as the first two, this still a worthwhile album to own if just for the title track alone. Musically speaking, the band's pallet started to extend beyond the folk/acoustic sound of the first two, like the song, "She's Gonna Let You Down", which includes strings. The strong material easily makes up for the weaker material, which would be a recurring theme on America's albums from here on out.

I don't know why they needed to set this show in Victorian England or co-opt Sherlock Holmes because the storylines are straight outta Supernatural. The only thing missing from this band of mystery ghost chasing teens is a talking Great Dane. With it's woke casting, flat out dismissal of actual 19th century London society and use of contemporary urban music and vernacular it's the kind of show that will appeal to hipster youth and tick a lot of "important" social concern boxes for SJWs. The stories are interesting enough that they could have have stood on their own merit without a Sherlock Holmes tie-in or the social agenda casting. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle afficienanados beware, this show takes its cues from Steven King.

This is a show that could have easily nestled snuggly between Full House and Family Matters, which means it's virtually impervious to critique such as flimsy writing and poor acting because if you liked those shows you didn't care. If you're nostalgic for light hearted, mind numbing premises presented by awkward, irksome characters who always over emote then this is your show (that is unless one of the main characters has to do hard time for bribery in a college admissions scandal). There's even sassy youngsters who speak in idioms and phrases that bely their age. Oh yeah, there's singing with guitars seemingly sitting behind every piece of furniture. And Hallmark endings sappy and syrupy enough to induce insulin shock. Either this show is freaking terrible or it's the slickest parody ever. Did Netflix lose a bet?
