Where to start?
If I had to choose a word it would be underwhelmed. A missed opportunity to produce a fabulous series.
The film was slated (quite rightly, I guess) for ignoring the real underlying story. However, it was superbly cast. The same cannot be said of the TV series, unfortunately. This is apart from Ruth Wilson, who is amazing as Mrs. Coulter.
The absence of demons is simply unforgivable. A huge part of the story is about the relationship between a person and their daemon, and this hardly comes across at all.
Also, why have they introduced will so early on?
I was so excited when I heard the BBC were going to do this series, and I will continue to watch it, but I can't help thinking they should have done a better job. They have simply not done the books justice. Sorry.
