I continue to learn how much I don’t know. This book is a must read. I think most Americans don’t really know what they are celebrating. Douglass challenged us to make ourselves better. He also believed voting was a responsibility that helped equalize us. So much of history is written by the winners. It’s also “whitewashed “ in our textbooks. All curriculum and texts should be reviewed and redone to reflect the truths. Stay well, wear a mask.
