As a hopeless romantic I loved the film. I wish the producers had allowed more time for the relationship between the Beast and Belle develop MORE believably by giving them more time together. Then, there are the quirky puppies who also live there. They do NOT get the chance to develop a proper relationship with her, either. The medium who warns the main villain of death, deserved a more prominent role and did NOT deserve to die. The Beast in my opinion was regal, commanding and, handsome. His vulnerability as it pertains to Belle, is NOT fully developed or believable. I also did not understand the unruly growing vines in the last segment of the movie. Even with these short comings, I LOVED IT, especially the back story of the deer.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I watch to observe the antithetical aspects of the normal world, turned upside down, in this one. Although there is the darkness, pro-Satan here, themes like family, friendship, love, loyalty, treachery, deceit, and jealousy, humanize the participants...I especially admire the inventiveness of the writers, who as in the lives of normal teenagers, are also included here.
