I've seen Dune II about 10 times. Enough said. A lot of reviewers mention how they were concerned Dune would be impossible to create with current technology. I used to feel that way myself. I felt the same way with The Hobbit. Well, technology has changed and we have two excellent adaptions.

Between Shakespeare, historical records and this movie, is an interesting tale. All different. Fascinating time in history. Don't trust Flagstaff though.

Personally, I think any man who call's Jane Austin a girly writer is not a true literature lover. Besides the charm and wit she writes like a anthropologist. All the custom and mores of the time. Thank you Jane!

One of my five favorite westerns. Back in the days of white hat versus black hat. We all know that life is more complicated. Deeply moving story of men making the mistake of judging and hanging innocent men. No good ending here. Anthony Quinn at his best.

The plot is the thing. And the plot is action. Otherwise the premise is less than adolescent. Most movies have a scene or two where you need to have a suspension of belief. Not this film. You have a continuous series of implausible plot twists. You actually have two or three times as many terrorists than security forces. In London when you need all of your security forces active and visible. A thousand terrorists are killed in the first attack which goes perfectly for the bad guys. Then they have a couple more thousand replacements. You just need to let your mind go numb and follow wherever Gerard Butler takes you. He is the plot. And somehow he'll get you to the happy ending. Somehow!!
