Chris Rothwell

A film about posh ex public schoolboys pretending to be soldiers. It's a good film but the idea behind it is preposterous. The idea that 2 lance corporal would be sent 9 miles across no man's land and through enemy lines is ridiculous. There are planes and trucks available. There are other strange incidents. How come they find a pail of milk. Who milked the cow? How come a truck gets caught in the only bit of mud on what seems like a perfect road. If the Germans have retreated why did the "yorkshires not take their trenches. etc etc More blackadder without the pathos of the ending than anything else.
