If you are a diehard fan of the novels, this show is not for you. Some of the casting choices showed promise, like good picks for Captain Vimes & Carrot. The writing for the series is a complete disaster. Not even the spirit of source material is accounted for. They left out two major characters, Corporal Knobs & Sergeant Colon. Carrots character is supposed to be able to walk through walls. In his first fight scene in the novelization, he takes out an entire bar of thugs, including the bouncer Detritus. I do not understand what happened to this adaptation. Normally the BBC does a great job. I love Good Omens, Hogfather, Going Postal & Colour of Magic.
