The director has successfully brought out how mundane and repetitive working in a kitchen is. And the hypocrisy in expecting that a girl is not supposed to know anything about sex before marriage. But then, that's it. Beyond that the message is bleak. Especially the end. While the woman breaks free and leads an independent life of her choice, the man marries another woman suitable to his patriarchal ways and lives happily ever after. Wonder what the director was trying to say? Was it that if a girl can't adjust to patriarchal ways, do not get married. And men, pls don't marry a progressive woman. Find yourself someone who will suit your regressive style.
