Great gameplay mechanics and awesome fight and killing scenes but hampered by a weak storyline that just doesn't make for memorable characters like Voss in Far Cry 3 or Geralt in The Witcher. Graphics are good but almost too open world as it can take some time to get surroundings synchronized to open fast travel options. Some might find traveling in the boat tedious and boring but I find it relaxing and a nice break although it doesn't seem to be much faster than running or the horse If you are anticipating romance like in The Witcher, don't bother as it is nothing short of wussified and will be a complete waste of time for most and you cant romance Soma which I believe to be a huge miss Side missions are a plenty but neither they nor the hunting missions add anything to the story You can call the horse just about anywhere like in Red Dead which comes in handy for such an open world Boss scenes are great and if you find yourself frustrated, change weapons before changing gameplay options as I have found that to work better Game is buggy but not to the point that you ever become that frustrated to stop playing Overall I gave 3 stars because The story is so weak and doesn't stay true to Viking roots. No crossbow option for your character but the enemy has a plenty? Another huge miss. I am disappointed in this game for the price but not so disappointed to stop playing. A good game that could have been great if done by a different team that paid more attention to a real Viking story and not be so politically correct
