Basically I don't like this film it's bland and the only thing saving it are the characters. Below is a further criticism on the film.
i had quite high expectations for this movie and unfortunately they werent well met. I went into the theatre expecting a new exciting story as a new addition to men in black, but came out perplexed first and foremost and ultimately disappointed. This movie still has it's strong points though such as the comedy and chemistry between the actors, unfortunately it didn't help much with the story. The story was bland and seemed to be highly superficial with underdeveloped points such as the redemption of H (which was very very lightly touched towards the end) and the somewhat rivalry between him and the other agent C. The training segment of a new recruit felt too rushed and elements of being a "new recruit" were not really used well in the film, M ultimately felt too capable and her background story felt superficial as well. In the build up to the climax scene it ends up suggesting something bigger was going on even after the reveal of High T, but it did not serve reaching the end of the movie. The other parts of it also felt under developed such as the retrieval of the weapon from the merchant's stake out, it felt like a cop out and very surface level. Sure they had repeating elements that showed up in the movie to connect the timeline together that made it seem interesting but the way they were used felt too coincidental. The character development I feel was a flop and yes they did end up banding together towards the end and yes there was a supposed change in H but it felt too quick or so subtle that it didn't even feel like a major plot development overcome. Fight scenes were also bland with no particular interesting way than shoot harder though the aliens that were at the start were interesting they didnt do more and were therefor the sake of the plot. I left the theatre confused, expecting more and definitely not satisfied this was ok at best.
