I loved the synopsis & was so excited to read this book, who won’t be right? Look at the beautiful book cover, Paris setting, Main character loves books but it felt forever to read & was not I light read as I was expecting it to be. I couldn’t connect to the characters though at moments I enjoyed it but I was not sure how I felt about this one once I finished the book You know how there are some books that you want so badly to love and be all merry about it but somehow it seems impossible, this is exactly how I feel about this book If you have read this book & loved it more than I did, please tell me I would definitely want to talk about it Thank you Flatiron Books for gifting me an advanced copy of this book

This is a historical fiction set during the Great Depression I loved how there were 3 different stories narrated parallel without loosing interest in either of them and how they somehow came together & connected at the end. This is a character driven coming of age & I loved all characters in this story each of them trying to survive through the hardships with hope & courage. I was fascinated by Marigold’s power. Paul was my favorite of all. But to be honest it took me too long to finish this book especially the first half was very slow and I was expecting something to look forward to but it took too long for that & I was beginning to loose interest in the story but I continued reading and once I has more than halfway it became a little interesting for me to get to the end. I love character driven stories but some how this one didn’t connect. If you love historical fiction & can get through very slow paced stories probably you will love this. A good summer read. I finished reading That’s What Frenemies Are For few hours back & it’s a 4 star. I enjoyed it thoroughly. A perfect light summer read is what I needed this week. Julia Summer even though she has it all from a good family to a beautiful apartment yet she spends so much time & energy concerning herself with what others in her social circle think about her, trying hard to be the shining start to gain influence over them with her little project with her spin instructor Tatum. So when things don’t go as she had thought it would, all her planning quickly turns into a nightmare and in addition her husband James is also caught up with legal stuff that’s when the story gets very interesting. All her friends were so mean and I felt so bad for Julia when the cards start falling and she has to decide whether she should bother about others or take care of her family, will she realize what is actually important? I love reading such books which have something riveting to look forward to with every turning page. If you are looking for a light refreshing read then you should add this to your TBR Thank you Random House for sending me the ARC of this book.

What would you do if you got a letter saying that their son broke-in your house & was snooping on your laptop? Another amazing suspense from Shari Lapena, Lately I have been very lucky with all my recent thrillers that I read & no doubt Someone We Know was also a 5 star for me. I love a thriller which is fast paced and moves right into action. We all do, right? This is exactly like that. A #whodunnit case which is gets complex with every page & it becomes a little difficult to know who did it until the last few pages. I loved how the story of other characters was connected & it gave a hard time to the police to actually keep up with new evidence & secrets emerging every now & then, they moved one step ahead & 2 steps backward arresting suspects but their theory didn’t add up. There was so much secret between each family, like it was difficult to know if they were telling the truth. I love a story with so much happening in it that you just want to keep turning the pages faster and faster. I loved Olivia how she wanted to do what is right even if it could cause trouble for her own family. I would definitely recommend it Thank you Viking Books for gifting me the copy of the book
