This is supposed tobe a "family" show and in many ways it is. As for example with the Sunday dinners incorporating pleasant dialogue, always with inoffensive language and religious overtones. Therefore why do all the characters, even the youngest ones, find it necessary to drink straight whiskey whenever they sit down for a chat? Do the whiskey producers have such influence on the script that this is necessary? This is certainly not in keeping with the "family virtues" otherwise presented by this program. This suggests to the impressionable among your viewers that such imbibing is not only acceptable but indeed laudable. Why not share a beer or a soft drink, something which will not assault the brains and livers of the characters and the audience?
