I quite enjoyed this slightly edgy story of the rakish, but dislikeable serial insurance scammer, his beautiful, but naïve wife, and her dull and slightly dim witted admirer from the insurance company.
The sexual tension between the three was intriguing. The look on Lee Remick's face as she lay there on Alan Bate's bed, told a story in itself.
Alan Bates was basically the same, pretty but hapless character he portrayed in Zorba the Greek. Down to the white shirts. It could have been part 2 of his adventures in the Med.
It loses 2 stars for being overlong, a little disbelievable in parts, and providing a disappointing ending for this viewer.
