Shogun is an incredible surprise, it made me appreciate the Japanese history and culture which I already love and respect, but now in much deeper paths of sensibility and knowledge. The visual perfection, the immaculate photography, the deep cultural, subtle dialogues, has you enter the past, as if the tunnel of time would actually be possible. I could see this artistry evolve before my eyes for many seasons to come which, I'm fully understanding and aware, would not come without a myriad of challenges and complexities, starting by the story follow-up, as if Clavell could lend the producers a hand, by some technical magic. I will pray for some sort of miracle to happen so the beautiful saga goes forward by some genius of sorts. Otherwise, I would like to be thankful for this beautiful project that was given to all of us to bear witness.

the movie is genius cast, displaying a real portrait of simplicity and authentic 60s taste, in the end showing the human maxima often said, "opposites attract" in respect, friendship, surpassing biased geo boundaries. oscar material for it is pure universal language.
