Billie Hunt

I just finished watching “Cuties “ and I see it as a coming of age story about a young girl in a new school. She’s at the age where all you want is to belong and it’s the hardest thing in the world. Her home life is confusing when she finds out her father is taking a new wife. She discovers some sexual scenes on a cell phone she “borrows.” She is not mature enough to understand what she has seen but she thinks she will be accepted and popular if she learns from that content. For awhile she handles it all but eventually she is back to being the young girl she is. I was taken back to my life at this junction and I could understand her need to be acceptable and having friends.
