PERFECT game! We play this game so often, and still have so much we haven't seen. Reviewer below who says the game is "repetitive and dull" and a "wasted opportunity" clearly doesn't like this type of game. That doesn't mean *the game* is bad. It's okay to not like things! The game is as the developer intended, therefore not a wasted opportunity.
The game is for you if you enjoy:
- single-session stories
- re-playable games
- 2-4 player co-op
- randomly generated dungeons/enemies
- finding secrets over the course of multiple playthroughs
There are some things that you just won't find until you play it more than once, and that's how the game is intended to be played. Throughout your decisions in each playthrough, you will unlock characters and locations. There will also be a randomized merchant that shows up throughout the game - and he won't always have something useful or affordable. The game is based on RNG along with your own choices that bump your stats. In between days, you can do things such as go hunting; look at the stars; cook food; or just sleep.
The visuals and audio are amazing! Every chord adds to the emotions the story is intended to evoke. Every character has their own motivations, and thus dialogue options. Your stats will affect how successfully you execute dialogue options which then affect which story beat you unlock. It's all a lot more complex than it appears! The way they make it look simple despite the complexity is so beautiful. Truly a skill in itself! I would 110% buy and play any game involving the devs and musicians in Moon Hunters.
