good film.. really enjoyed it! early scene setting and charater introduction was masterful, beatiful cinematography throughout (at times kubrick-esk, and at others mellow and picturesque), film balanced 'unsettling' and 'coming of age romance' very well, ending was beatifully tragic felt well orchustrated but it did have interesting feeling pacing, it felt non-typical, fast and punchy went needed but with more than enough time to get to know characters and explore quieter more emotional or existential moments/themes highly recommend

Rather enjoyable movie, looks phenomenal - the CGI and cinematography is superb. Dialog was OK, more than passable, and serves the purpose of driving the plot. what kinda ruined the movie a bit was finding out that Amelia was a total rewrite of a real guy who actually did the 'saving of the day'. perfectly enjoyable film otherwise, but kinda leaves a a bad politically flavoured taste in your mouth - if you don't have a problem with it at face value, ask yourself how you'd feel about a film about Marie Curie but rewritten to be a handsome male womaniser... there are plenty of female scientist and heroines from history who are deserving of attention from a wider public audience yet this films seeks to undermine them, their achievements and sacrifices, and the writing out of history that they suffered under. i and my family thought it was a very pleasant film, until we all found out the history - after which we all kinda wished we hadn't looked it up :L
