Look, it's jingoistic (Independence day anyone), it's full of military hardware including robots and is set sometime in the future (very believable 'no sarcasm' intended). This movie had some great ideas and the special effects were solid given the budget.. Compared to the Wandering Earth (Chinese SciFi) it's brilliant. I loved the hard hitting violence. The battle sequences were shocking with suicide vests etc. The portrayal of women made me laugh. This is not exactly a Me Too movie. The men are strong and virile, the woman (in most cases) just want to be protected. This movie is definitely worth watching. Just make sure you watch with Russian language (subs). The dubbed version is laughable and makes it unwatchable (my opinion).
