Just got done watching this movie...I put it off because of the negative reviews, but after this I think I’m finally going to form my own opinion on movies unless I can tell it’s just going to be a complete dumpster fire.
The movie is good...it’s a solid horror movie. I was captivated from beginning to end...and that’s not always easy for me. They cast a bunch of unknowns in this one...but all of their acting is solid.
This one is different from the last because of this: the last one focuses on sounds the entire movie to build up the deaths that happen...this one has that too...but it gets straight to the point pretty early on.
The soundtrack...is F’n dope....they have this 80’s themed music that plays throughout the movie, and it goes perfectly with it.
It’s definitely a cliché horror film...but it’s entertaining...I think where the movie falls off is at the end. The end is the reason I think is where everyone’s reviews are coming from. It doesn’t have a bad ending...but you know when you watch a horror movie...and they just do everything you wouldn’t do...so you actually start yelling at the TV screen...that’s dialed up to 11 at the end.
But the soundtrack really helps in my opinion...went with the scenes including the ending very well. Acting was great. Suspense was great. Entertaining. Great soundtrack.
I feel like people are too hard on it because they want to compare it to what they would do. Always keep your phone on you in a sketchy situation, own a firearm, and don’t go in dark scary rooms. This is a horror movie...if they all went by logic there wouldn’t be barely any horror movies.
Overall...if you’re a horror fan...check it out...this movie didn’t deserve the bashing it received...I felt strongly enough about that this is my first film review ever
