The show as an idea is great. The characters are likable and Rob Lowe is a great captain in this iteration of 9-1-1. However, IMO, there is way too much going on in the first season. The original 9-1-1 got it right, and we all got to know the characters as individuals. At that point, they started focusing on the characters' relationships, their lives and and whatnot. However, with Lone Star, they started all of the drama on day 1, and we didn't know enough about the characters to really care about their personal lives. I personally think things are happening way to fast, which I think will hurt this series in the long run.
