Couldn’t figure out why the monsters were in the movie as it wasn’t about monsters. It really was about war and bad foreign policy that puts the US in places it shouldn’t be and indiscriminately taking out friend and foe alike. It was a run of the mill anti war/US movie, with some monsters thrown in the background for who knows why. For me, it was a total waste of time. In the end hubby and I looked at each other scratching our heads. I’m sure we were both thinking, “what did I just watch and why?” The soldiers we follow start in their hometown of downtrodden Detroit and move on to kill monsters. The plot was jumpy and left the acting spotty at best. So many things never get explained and you get the idea our soldiers are made up of loser street kids who in their Neanderthal minds just want to go somewhere and kill, hoorah. It was nothing but irritating, sorry.
