My wife signed up for a trial months ago and didn't pay attention to the auto-renew clauses as she like many who might not be tech-savvy enough to check these things.
I'm pretty annoyed to be honest. You act just like a tech/SaaS company and prey on customers who do not use your product.
I am sure you have usage stats/logs for each of your members. You should have email journeys set up to remind people that they have an active account that is not being used, that a payment is due, and that they should consider if they still need your service.
To cap it off, you have a refunds section in your FAQs. This tells me many people ask for a refund. But, you don't offer refunds and you don't have any communication mechanisms in place to inform your clients that appear to have forgotten they have an account.
Absolutely disgraceful behavior!!
All of that relates to customer communication, which you can automate, but you deliberately choose not to. Even you cancellation process has multiple gates trying to keep people in.
With regards to your product and its value. My view is it is extremely over priced. Around $700 per year!! Wowee!! There is plenty of alternatives available which offer the exact same and are way cheaper. If you are considering this product, you should do a quick search for alternatives like Freeletics or Aaptiv. Both are great and way cheaper. Don't just go with what you see on TV. Groups like this pay marketing dollars to be showcased on those shows, they are not being shown just because the hosts of the TV shows like them..
