Very informative yet extremely sad

This movie was hard to get through. Most characters spoke in monotone voices and said odd things. Almost everything about it was strange. No one seemed to have normal feelings or react in ways one might expect. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who behaved the way these people did. Supposedly loving parents did not treat their children with deep affection. The entire premise of the movie was bizarre. Obviously, this is an “artsy” movie which some people just love. The monotone delivery was intentional but was not my cup of tea. The actor who played Martin was phenomenal! Actually, most of the acting was very good.
