I was looking forward to this series since Hill House, but was ultimately disappointed. It wasn't "horror" and putting it in that category is what hurts the ratings in my opinion. The previews also made it out to be something it is not. The last episodes were wrapping it up to be a love story, I think it fell flat. What's incredible to me was that those episodes were so slow yet fast at the same time. The series dragged out FOREVER and I was incredibly frustrated when it ended. I felt robbed. I felt like a lot of the story or side stories were there to try to take a "scary" turn but were just unsuccessful. I feel like so many parts of the story just fell to nowhere. Again, I'm very disappointed because I was mainly in this for a great horror series before Halloween. If you want a drama, this will work just fine for you. If you want an intelligent HORROR series, rebinge Hill House, because this ain't it.

I think I saw everything I needed to see of this show in the first episode. Boring, slow, predictable but the writers added loads of nudity, language and drugs for shock value. The "enlightened" narrative of an addicted teen throughout, who has a shallow view of the world (again nothing new). Honestly, nothing inventive or even entertaining about another show focused on teens having sex and doing drugs. I'm just as curious as I think everyone is to find out who this show's intended audience is. Most adults have seen this old played out story, so I'm assuming it's for teens since the main character is a teen star? This is truly a HBO version of "13 Reasons Why." I'll watch the next episode in hopes I'm wrong and there will be some form of development because a story based on the first episode alone... Is tiring.
