No spoilers...I read this book as an assignment for a book report. 40 years later and I still remember it. Some books just stay with you. Literature should be memorable. Literature should affect you. Truly great literature can redefine you and the world around you. I can say with all sincerity, Death Be Not Proud has done that for me.

Not going to go into the drama or controversy surrounding the show. The problems stem from the show itself. The action isn't any better than 90's superhero movies (Spawn, Batman&Robin.. Etc). It's 2019, and we deserve better. The acting and the script are "wooden" and lack real emotion. The DC characters deserve better. The premise of the show itself is a bit far fetched, a difficult feat to pull off considering this is a fictional story about superheroes. The Batman story arc deserves better. That's what it ultimately comes down to. A show that feels like a Saturday afternoon show similar to "Xenia, Warrior Princess" or "Hercules". For all of it's attempts to be a modern interpretation of a DC favorite, it just feels dated and uninspired and comes off as unnecessary cash grab. It'll be forgotten in a year.
