First let me say I’m disappointed but not surprised by ABC for suspending Whoopi Goldberg. Though her comments may not have been appropriate in the context of how they were expressed , they were not, in my opinion intended anti- Semitic as some may try to portray. Hitler did in fact declare the Jewish people a race, but for obvious reasons. The definition of race vs ethnicity is ongoing but , it is my opinion, that race is permanent and cannot be changed nor joined. Ethnicity is more a sub- group of race. I think that was what Whoopi was alluding to in her comments. This to me had nothing to do with anti-semitism or denial of the horrors of the holocaust. Whoopi apologized. now ABC needs to fix or lose viewers.
