my friend & I co-bought the switch & animal crossing. It was a huge investment for us since we’ve both lost our jobs with the pandemic, & it was honestly the one thing I was looking forward to after my life was completely upended. I let her start the game first (we don’t live in the same apartment but nearby) she had it for a week, & then it was my turn. The second player experience sucks. You get almost no in-game instruction & no in-game goals other than selling stuff to get a bigger house. As the first player, she gets to make all decisions about where new construction will go, island residents, & has a much more interesting game play experience than me because she has a ton more goals. There’s no way around this other than buying another console (which I cannot afford right now, not to mention that I’m so disappointed at Nintendo I have no desire to give them any more money) or delete her island & start one with me as first player, which would of course suck for her because she’d lose all the progress she’s made & then she’d be the one stuck in this bad second player experience. Honestly after waiting months trying to purchase this game because it was sold out & spending all this money that I could have used on essentials like groceries, I’m so upset & disappointed. I will never make a purchase from Nintendo again.
