Was a fan of the movie (like most viewers or book readers) and had medium hopes. It delivered medium depth. Characters are not relatable and the audience doesn’t care about them. Lyra grows on you but hardly enough. No real heroes in the film you want to root for and the villains are too politically slimy and not threatening or fun to watch. Ruth Wilson is exceptional but not enough to carry the show. Bummer.
