The movie indicates that women involved in the pro-choice movement generally believe they are helping others of their gender. That is what Abby Johnson thought. At one time, Abby was a clinic director for Planned Parenthood. Her experiences lead her to realize that abortion is often traumatic for the mother, and for the unborn child, it is a heinous violation of a basic civil right: the right to life.
Abby's coworkers in Planned Parenthood are depicted, for the most part, as caring, supportive people who believe they are part of a good cause. Though Abby experiences a radical paradigm change, her co-workers do not.
The movie gives a balanced view of the pro-life activists. The pro-life couple who have the most influence on Abby's change in perspective, are depicted as gentle and prayerful. There is also, however, the depiction of an angry, mean-spirited man who seeks to shame the women coming to get an abortion.
I strongly recommend this movie for those who are willing to watch it with an open mind and heart. Due to the graphic nature of some scenes, I do not recommend it for young children.
